NATIONAL CASE COMPETITION

Tackle a real-world marketing challenge!

ABOUT THE NATIONAL CASE COMPETITION

Each year, CMU AMA competes in the National AMA Collegiate Case Competition, where small teams tackle a challenging marketing case presented by National AMA. Our Competitions Division develops and proposes an innovative marketing strategy in response to a detailed challenge provided by the case sponsor. Students can showcase their skills and creativity in a nationally recognized competition, making a strong impression with their strategic thinking and innovative solutions.

OUR COMPETITION DIVISION

The goal of our Competitions Division is to challenge the creativity and business acumen of our members through the opportunity to compete on behalf of our chapter, and to receive mentorship from upperclassmen who have previously been successful in competitions and case interviews.

Each year, we enter the national AMA case competition. In December, we submit our chapter's entry for the first round. Finalists advance to the next round in the spring. In the fall, Competitions Division members form teams to work on the case, guided by mentors. Teams present their solutions in November, and the winning idea is submitted to the AMA. If we advance to the final round, the division can compete at the national conference with a cost-covered trip. Otherwise, we pursue other marketing and business competitions.

HOW TO JOIN THE COMPETITION DIVISION

To join the competition division, you must be a member of CMU AMA.

You will also need to fill out a sign-up form to indicate your interest in joining the Competitions Division and so that we can better understand your strengths and what you’re looking for in team members.
